Make More of Your Townsville Backyard

With its warm climate, mild winters and outdoor-focused lifestyle, Townsville is a place where the backyard can become another living space.

A spa or swim spa creates somewhere to cool off, exercise, entertain, reconnect as a family or simply relax at the end of the day.

And because you control the water temperature, your Sapphire Spa or Swim Spa can be enjoyed differently throughout the seasons — from refreshing water during warmer weather to warm hydrotherapy when the temperature drops.

Whether you're planning a new outdoor area or looking for a way to make better use of an existing backyard, there's a Sapphire model to suit spaces both large and small.

Which Option Is Right for Your Townsville Home?

Not every household needs a traditional swimming pool.

One of the advantages of the Sapphire range is the ability to choose an option that matches the way you actually want to use your backyard.

Swim. Exercise. Cool Off. Relax.

If you're considering a swimming pool for your Townsville backyard, it's worth considering what a swim spa could offer instead.

A Sapphire Swim Spa combines space for swimming and exercise with an area for relaxation and hydrotherapy — all within one self-contained unit.

Use it for fitness in the morning, family time in the afternoon and relaxing hydrotherapy at the end of the day.

Temperature control also gives you the flexibility to adjust the water to suit the season and the way you want to use it.

For homes where backyard space is valuable, a swim spa can also provide an impressive water feature without requiring the footprint of a conventional full-sized swimming pool.

Start With Your Backyard

Before deciding on a particular model, think about where your spa or swim spa will live and how you want to use the surrounding space.

Consider:

• How much space is available?
• Will the spa sit above ground, partially recessed or be integrated into a deck?
• How will the spa be delivered into the backyard?
• Where will the equipment be accessed for future servicing?
• What electrical supply will be required?
• Will you add decking, paving, landscaping or an outdoor entertaining area around it?
• Which spa or swim spa size best suits the way your family will actually use it?

Thinking about these details early can make choosing the right model — and planning the installation — considerably easier.

Can I buy a Sapphire Spa in Townsville?

Yes. Sapphire Spas are available to customers in Townsville and surrounding North Queensland areas through our regional Sapphire Spas retailer, Mackay Spas.

Is a swim spa suitable for Townsville's climate?

A swim spa can be particularly versatile in a warm climate because its water temperature can be controlled. It can be used for swimming, exercise and recreation as well as warm-water relaxation and hydrotherapy.

What's the difference between a spa pool and a swim spa?

A traditional spa pool is primarily designed around seated relaxation and hydrotherapy. A swim spa has a substantially larger swimming area and can incorporate a swim current for exercise while still providing spa-style seating and hydrotherapy.

Can a swim spa be installed into a deck?

Yes. Swim spas can be installed above ground, partially recessed or incorporated into an appropriately designed deck or landscaping project. The right solution depends on your site, access and structural requirements.

Are Sapphire Spas Australian Made?

Yes. Sapphire Spas manufactures its Australian Made spa and swim spa ranges at its manufacturing facility in Victoria and has been manufacturing spas in Australia since 2003.

What should I consider before choosing a spa for my Townsville home?

Start with your available space, access for delivery, how many people will regularly use the spa, whether swimming or hydrotherapy is most important, and how you'd like the spa incorporated into your outdoor area. Your Sapphire retailer can then help narrow down the most suitable models.
