Hot tub materials

The materials used in the construction of a hot tub play a crucial role in its durability, performance, and overall quality. At Sapphire Spas, we carefully select the materials for our Australian made hot tubs to ensure they meet our high standards and can withstand the unique environmental conditions of our beautiful country.

  1. Shell: The shell is the interior of the hot tub where the water is held. It needs to be durable, resistant to the elements, and easy to clean. At Sapphire Spas, we use high-quality acrylic for our shells due to its strength, longevity, and aesthetic appeal.
  2. Cabinet: The cabinet, or the exterior of the hot tub, not only adds to the aesthetic appeal but also protects the internal components. We use a robust synthetic material for our cabinets that is resistant to rot, pests, and weather damage.
  3. Insulation: Proper insulation is crucial for maintaining water temperature and energy efficiency. We use premium insulation materials that help keep the heat in and the cold out, reducing energy costs for our customers.
  4. Pumps and Heaters: The pumps and heaters are the heart of the hot tub, circulating water and maintaining the desired temperature. We choose high-quality, energy-efficient pumps and heaters that offer excellent performance and longevity.
  5. Jets: The jets are responsible for the hydrotherapy benefits of a hot tub. We use a variety of jet types in our hot tubs, each designed to target different muscle groups for a comprehensive massage experience.
  6. Filters: The filters keep the water clean and clear. We use top-of-the-line filters that effectively remove impurities and are easy to clean and replace.

At Sapphire Spas, we believe in the importance of quality materials. That's why every hot tub we manufacture, from our compact models to our spacious round hot tubs, is built with the best materials available. This commitment to quality ensures that our hot tubs are not only beautiful and comfortable but also durable and long-lasting.

Hot tub running costs

Investing in a hot tub is not just about the initial purchase price; it's also important to consider the ongoing running costs. At Sapphire Spas, we understand the importance of energy efficiency, and we design our Australian made hot tubs with this in mind.

Our hot tubs are equipped with high-quality, energy-efficient components that help reduce running costs. The pumps and heaters in our hot tubs are designed to operate efficiently, maintaining the desired water temperature without excessive energy use.

The insulation we use in our hot tubs also plays a crucial role in energy efficiency. By effectively retaining heat, our hot tubs require less energy to keep the water at the desired temperature, even in colder weather.

Furthermore, our hot tubs feature top-of-the-line filters that not only keep the water clean and clear but also operate efficiently, reducing the need for frequent water changes and chemical use.

By investing in a Sapphire Spa hot tub, you're not just getting a high-quality, relaxing hydrotherapy experience. You're also investing in a product designed with energy efficiency in mind. This means lower running costs in the long run, saving you money while you enjoy your hot tub.

Whether you're considering one of our compact hot tubs or a spacious round hot tub, you can rest assured that energy efficiency is at the heart of our design.

Hot tub maintenance

Maintaining your hot tub is essential for ensuring its longevity, performance, and the health of its users. At Sapphire Spas, we design our Australian made hot tubs to be as easy and straightforward to maintain as possible.

Our hot tubs are equipped with high-quality filters that effectively remove impurities from the water. These filters are easy to access, clean, and replace, ensuring that your hot tub water remains clean and clear with minimal effort.

The materials we use for our hot tub shells and cabinets are not only durable but also easy to clean. A simple wipe down with a non-abrasive cleaner is all it takes to keep your hot tub looking its best.

We also provide clear, easy-to-understand instructions for regular water treatment. This includes guidance on how often to change the water and how to balance the water chemistry using sanitizers and pH adjusters.

Installation of a hot tub

Installing a hot tub is an exciting process, but it's important to carefully consider where it will be placed. At Sapphire Spas, we're here to guide you through the process and ensure your hot tub is installed in the perfect location.

  1. Stable Base: Your hot tub needs a stable, level base to sit on. This could be a concrete slab, a deck, or a spa pad. The base needs to be strong enough to support the weight of the hot tub, the water, and the people using it.
  2. Access to Power: Your hot tub will need to be within reach of a power source. If you've purchased an add-on heat&cool pump with your spa, it will be supplied with a data and power cable already fitted. It simply needs to be connected to the Spanet SV spa control.
  3. Adequate Air Flow: If you're using a heat&cool pump, it's important to ensure there's adequate air flow for the fan output. This means not placing the hot tub in an enclosed area where the pump can't effectively draw in and expel air.
  4. Close to the House: While not a necessity, having the hot tub close to your house can make it more convenient to use, especially in colder weather. It also makes it easier to connect to power and water supplies.
  5. Privacy: Consider the level of privacy when choosing a location. You may want to position your hot tub in a place where it's not easily seen by neighbors or passersby.
  6. View: If possible, position your hot tub where you can enjoy a nice view. This will enhance the relaxation and enjoyment of using your hot tub.

Remember, installation should be carried out by a professional or under professional guidance to ensure safety and efficiency. At Sapphire Spas, we're here to help you every step of the way, from choosing the perfect hot tub to installing it in the perfect location.

Hot tub massage

Achieve optimum health and wellbeing

Although you can’t claim the cost of a hot tub on your health insurance, you might save yourself a few visits to the doctor with a spa session each day? The warm water and hydro massage from a Sapphire HotTub may help with common health issues faced by many of us. You may even melt away a few kilos to help you lose any unwanted weight.

Most of us build up tension through our postural muscles and the muscles of our back, neck and shoulders. These muscles will often feel worse with rest; they actually respond much better to massage and movement to alleviate stiffness and support the healing process. Our swim spas provide a supportive environment for gentle remedial stretches and exercise, protecting muscles with the warm water of your spa.

Spa jets can also be powered up, creating resistance to target muscles and joints that need work to regain strength. The fully adjustable resistance from the bank of swim jets creates instability, to engage core muscles. Core strength will help correct your posture, realign your frame and provide a healthy body to support you throughout your daily life.

Neck and shoulder massage system

Our wrap-around jet configuration targets pressure points of the neck & shoulder areas; reaching deep into muscles where tension is often held after a long day at work. Four powerful jets, that can be individually adjusted for water volume & flow direction, provide a therapeutic massage when it’s time to relax.

Reflexology footcell

Based on the theory that stimulation of pressure points within the soles of your feet will benefit your entire body, we have strategically positioned jets to create the ultimate massage system. Whilst supporting your feet & lower legs, our ‘at rest’ angled foot support will treat your aching feet to a ‘foot rub’ that never has to end.

Oxygendetox ‘bed of bubbles’

Together with the powerful hydrojet massage, this air jet system relaxes, not only your muscles, but your entire body, nervous system and even your mind. It also promotes healthy circulation, stomach digestion, lung function and can help your lymphatic system get rid of toxins and waste which may reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Reduce back and neck pain

Immersion in water substantially reduces the weight-bearing effects of gravity on the lower extremities and spine. Back and neck pain can be significantly reduced by the turbulence of your spa water as your body is supported in a weightless state by the aerated jet streams.

Arthritis

The warm water of a spa pool is a safe, supportive aid to relieving the pain and stiffness of arthritis. Your body becomes almost weightless as it’s submerged in water, helping to ease discomfort caused by stiff joints, keep them moving, increase their range of motion and maintain muscle strength.

Diabetes

An increasing percentage of our population deal with the effects of diabetes on a daily basis. Studies show that physical activity can help control your blood glucose, blood pressure and blood cholesterol. If regular exercise is not always possible, a spa pool can simulate the beneficial effects of exercise.

Do you sleep well?

A good nights sleep is vital to our overall health and well-being and still, millions of people either do not get enough sleep or suffer from other sleep related problems. The warm water and relaxation effect of a spa pool may provide a natural remedy for a restful, full nights sleep.

Elderly and rehabilitation

With the assistance of our support bar, those of you requiring help with stability can still use a swim spa with confidence. Any exercise, stretch or mild cardio workout can just as effectively be performed whilst holding the bar, mounted in front of the swim jets, for support.

Although we’ve described our round hot tub model here, all of these health benefits can be gained from all spa in our Sapphire range. The shape, size, colour and added features, like LED lights and stereo systems, are the only things that differ. Create the perfect hot tub to suit your lifestyle, from a 2 person spa pool to our much larger swim spas, the choice is yours.
