Spa Pool Hardcover

  • Your Portable Sapphire Spa is supplied with a Vinyl, Key Lockable Hardcover.
  • The Spa Cover is a vinyl made from PVC (poly vinyl chloride). In the manufacture of the cover it is sealed with a special topcoat which holds in compounds and softening agents to keep the vinyl supple. Keeping that Topcoat is essential for the life of the cover.
  • All vinyl, even the High Grade type used on Sapphire Spas is UV Sensitive which can degrade when exposed to Sunlight or Mildew.
  • Maintaining you Hardcover should be part of your Regular Maintenance Program. Dirt acts as an abrasive to the vinyl, and can also cause wear to the folds, seams and stitching. Mildew on damp, dirty vinyl will begin growing into the fabric, accelerating failure
  • Keeping the Cover clean is quite simple but you must follow a routine for cleaning and treatment with vinyl protector. (Consult your Dealer for the ideal Vinyl Protectant).

    • Follow these few steps for long lasting results:

  • Rinse the Cover with cool water using a Garden Hose.
  • Spray with a gentle, non-foaming cleaner (Consult your Dealer) and wipe clean.
  • For stubborn dirt use a small sponge, similar to what you might use on your vehicle.
  • Rinse again thoroughly with water and allow to dry.

    NOTE:

    Never use laundry detergent, abrasives, alcohol based product, dish soaps or harsh Household cleaners. These can actually remove some of the topcoat and cause premature vinyl failure.

    Hardcover Protectant Application:

  • You must use the correct vinyl protectant purchased from your authorized Sapphire Spas Dealer.
  • Avoid products that contain any type of oil, have a greasy feel, contain petroleum products, distillates, or leave a coating that dries like wax. If a product is marked "FLAMMABLE" under no circumstances should you use it on the hard cover.
  • After cleaning the cover and allowing to dry, spray a light coating of vinyl protector (read instructions before use) on the top and skirt
  • Spread evenly with a damp cloth or sponge.
  • Repeat procedure on the underside of the cover. This will help prevent mildew build-up.
  • Repeat on a monthly basis in summer..........every spa maintenance routine for the rest of the year.
  • Hint: Spa cover lifters will help prolong the life of your hard cover. (Consult your authorized Sapphire Spas Dealer.)
