History of Sapphire Spas

Sapphire Spas was established by Tim Pickford and Glenn Edgerton with the goal to create a point of difference in manufacturing a premium quality spa pool; competitive in price and built tough in Australia, to handle the harsh Australian conditions.

From it's humble beginnings in 2003, Sapphire Spas has grown to become Australia's leading innovator in design, comfort and reliability with a 70 strong Dealer Network, able to service Australia wide.

Sapphire Spas' success and rapid growth has necessitated the construction of our state-of-the-art manufacturing plant and corporate headquarters in Pakenham, Victoria.

As Sapphire Spas has grown, our export has thrived with Dealers in Europe, UK, Reunion Island, Mauritius and Thailand to a point of Sapphire Spas being the leading exporter of Spas in Australia.

Manufacturing

Fully equipped with advanced facilities, our Pakenham plant is designed for maximum flow through production.

Our spa shell moulds are designed with the human form in mind. Body contours and muscle groups are thoughtfully considered in the positioning of the jet recesses which provide streamlined support within our SynergySeating.

Once perfected, this template for spa shell creation, enters our purpose built vacuum former which heats the acrylic sheet evenly. Once it reaches the correct temperature, it can be moulded into the base element of our structurally superior product. During the next stage, the spa is reinforced with 2 coats of fibreglass/resin and then given its first stage of insulation with an 'R' rated, closed cell layer of foam. Next, holes are drilled to reveal the thoughtfully configured arrays of jets which will treat targeted muscles groups within the body.

The main power of your spa pool will be realised as it flows through the system of jets and pipework. For this reason, all Sapphire Spas are professionally plumbed to ensure the full benefit of our operating power is realised. Our unique 'ring-mained' plumbing avoids lengthy pipework, excessive use of elbows and ineffective positioning of pumps which cause restriction of water flow and poor performance at the jets. We ensure that no energy is wasted throughout the operational flow of our spa systems, which means a more efficient pump can be utilised to conserve energy. During this final stage, the construction of the spa pool is complete. Operating equipment is installed, the support structure and cabinet are attached and the additional stages of insulation are undertaken.

Upon completion, every one of our spa pools must undergo a minimum four hour wet test for maximum quality control credibility. After passing this stage of production, each spa will receive a comprehensive QC check and detail before its carefully packaged for distribution. Throughout this complex, detailed manufacturing process, your new spa pool will be treated like it was our own and given every attention to detail so that it reaches you safely and ready for use.

We ensure that no energy is wasted throughout the operational flow of our spa systems, which means a smaller, more efficient pump can be utilised to conserve energy Sapphire plumbing = less restriction = better flow = energy efficiency!

The use of recycled paper and waterless printing in the production of our promotional materials results in considerable environmental savings in an industry that largely relies upon print media to promote their product.

Sapphire Spas also hope that the development of a more interactive, comprehensive and user-friendly website will reduce the need for large quantities of promotional brochures to be distributed to potential customers. Our 'Build Your Spa' interactive portal allows every possible configuration of spa pool and swim spa to be created virtually so a decision can be made by a customer before they even enter their local showroom to grab a handful of brochures.

Thanks to the vast expanse of roof area created by our manufacturing facility, Sapphire Spas are able to capture an abundance of rain water in our purpose built storage tanks. This water is utilised during the production, testing and clean up processes throughout our factory. Water used for spa testing is continually recirculated through the spas during our quality control stage.
